Dakota Mortensen will not be part of the upcoming season of “Vanderpump Villa,” Variety can confirm. “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” cast member’s storyline will be edited out of Season 3 of the reality series, which is set to debut on April 16. Hulu did not immediately respond to comment. The news comes after a slew of headlines about Mortensen and his ex, Taylor Frankie Paul. On March 16, Hulu paused filming Season 5 of “Mormon Wives” due to a domestic violence investigation between the pair, with allegations made on both sides. No decision has been made about Mortensen or Paul’s futures on “Mormon Wives.”
The pair have been in a toxic, on-again, off-again relationship throughout the show. During the series premiere of the show in 2024, Paul was arrested for aggravated assault and put on probation after getting into a physical fight with Mortensen. While the arrest was part of the show, the actual fight was not shown on camera. Then, on March 19, three days before Paul’s season of “The Bachelorette” was set to debut, the video of the incident was leaked to TMZ, showing her throwing stools at Mortensen while her child was in the room.
ABC then pulled Season 22 of “The Bachelorette.” It has not yet been announced whether or not it will air at a later date. “In light of the newly released video just surfaced today, we have made the decision to not move forward with the new season of ‘The Bachelorette’ at this time, and our focus is on supporting the family,” the statement from a Disney Entertainment Television spokesperson read. Following her season being pulled, Paul spoke out in a lengthy statement from her representation.
“Taylor is very grateful for ABC’s support as she prioritizes her family’s safety and security. After years of silently suffering extensive mental and physical abuse as well as threats of retaliation, Taylor is finally gaining the strength to face her accuser and taking steps to ensure that she and her children are protected from any further harm,” the statement reads. “There are too many women who are suffering in silence as they survive aggressive, jealous ex-partners who refuse to let them move on with their lives. Taylor has remained silent out of fear of further abuse, retaliation, and public shaming. She is currently exploring all of her options, seeking support, and preparing to own and share her story.” Mortensen, for his part, is set to appear in a YouTube reality competition series produced by Alex Cooper, streaming on April 6.
