‘Hannah Montana’ Anniversary Special Hits 6.3 Million Views in Three Days as Original Series Jumps 1,000% in Views
The Disney+ special celebrating the 20th anniversary of “Hannah Montana” reached 6.3 million views in its first three days of streaming.
Additionally, the anniversary drove a massive surge for the original Disney Channel series. Viewership of “Hannah Montana” itself was up 1,000% over the last week compared to the week before it. Despite that the series ended its run on Disney Channel in 2011, its popularity endures: Disney reports that “Hannah Montana” has been streamed for more than 500 million hours to date.

The anniversary special debuted on March 24, exactly two decades after “Hannah Montana” debuted on Disney Channel and launched Miley Cyrus‘ career. Cyrus revisited the “Hannah Montana” set during the special and her discussed memories of the show alongside her mother, Tish Cyrus-Purcell, in addition to being interviewed by “Call Her Daddy” host Alex Cooper and performing “Hannah Montana” songs in front of a crowd of fans.

“Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special” was produced by HopeTown Entertainment and Unwell Productions. Ashley Edens served as showrunner. Producers included, Cyrus, Cyrus-Purcell, Cooper and Matt Kaplan.
