‘Life Is Strange’ TV Series Casts Tom Cullen, Leisha Hailey, Raúl Castillo, Owen Teague (EXCLUSIVE)
The “Life Is Strange” TV series adaptation at Amazon Prime Video is building out its main cast.
Variety has learned exclusively that Tom Cullen, Leisha Hailey, Raúl Castillo, and Owen Teague are all set to star in the show alongside previously announced leads Maisy Stella and Tatum Grace Hopkins.
The show is based on the hit videogame franchise of the same name. It was first reported to be set up at Prime Video in September 2025.

Per the official logline, the show follows Max (Hopkins), “a photography student, who discovers she can rewind time while saving the life of her childhood best friend, Chloe (Stella). As she struggles to understand this new skill, the pair investigate the mysterious disappearance of a fellow student, uncovering a dark side to their town that will ultimately force them to make an impossible life or death choice that will impact them forever.”
Cullen will play Mark Jefferson, Max’s teacher, while Hailey will play Joyce Price, Chloe’s mother. Castillo is set to play David Madsen, Chloe’s stepfather. Teague will play Frank Bowers, a local drug dealer.
Cullen will next be seen in Season 3 of HBO’s “Game of Thrones” prequel series “House of the Dragon.” His other TV credits include “Downton Abbey,” “Trespasses,” “Mudtown,” and “Black Mirror.” He has also starred in films such as “Weekend,” “Black Church Bay,” and “The Last Days on Mars.”
Hailey is best known for her role in the hit Showtime series “The L Word” and the followup series “The L Word: Generation Q.” She has also appeared in shows like “Silicon Valley,” “Bosch,” and “CSI.” She is an accomplished musician to boot, having co-founded the band The Murmurs and Uh Huh Her.

Castillo previously starred in the critically-acclaimed HBO series “Looking” and the followup movie at the premium cabler. He will appear in Season 3 of “The Walking Dead: Dead City” at AMC and has recently been in shows like “Task” at HBO and “American Horror Stories” at Hulu. He has starred in films including “Cha Cha Real Smooth” and “Army of the Dead.”
Teague has also appeared in both “Task” and “Black Mirror,” as well as shows like “Mrs. Fletcher” and “The Stand.” Teague’s film credits include both “It” and “It: Chapter Two,” “Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes,” and “You Hurt My Feelings.”
Cullen is repped by United Agents and Telescope Agency. Hailey is repped by Untitled Entertainment and Schreck Rose. Castillo is repped by CAA, JWS Entertainment, and Goodman Genow. Teague is repped by CAA and Jackoway Austen Tyerman.
“Life Is Strange” is created by Charlie Covell, who also serves as executive producer and showrunner. Mackenzie Dohr will write and executive produce. Karyn Kusama will direct the first two episodes and executive produce under her Familystyle production banner. Dmitri M. Johnson, Michael Lawrence Goldberg, and Timothy I. Stevenson will executive produce via Story Kitchen. Jen Roskind also executive produces, as do Dani Gorin and Natalie Berkus of LuckyChap. The series comes from Square Enix, Story Kitchen, and LuckyChap, with Amazon MGM Studios producing.
